Atlantic Cruising Club's Guides to Marinas - Introduction

The Essential Boater-Biased Marina and Cruising Destination Resource
Powered by DatastractTM

The Atlantic Cruising Club's Guides to Marinas provide extensive, independent, objective, carefully-researched information on marinas and their surrounding areas in both print and electronic formats - in bound books, CD/DVD-ROMS, ebooks, downloads and on this website.. ACC Reviewers have visited and reviewed every marina on the U.S. and Canadian Coasts that welcomes visiting boats with LOAs from 25 to 300 feet. Their reviews, ratings, and photographs, coupled with independent research and marina-supplied information, form the basis for ACC's Marina Reports.

The Atlantic Cruising Club, an independent, boater-biased publishing company, establishes clear guidelines for inclusion, visits every facility (usually multiple times), interviews dockmasters and managers, researches the surrounding region for suppliers, attractions, resources, provisioners, restaurants, accommodations, transportation and medical facilities, takes thousands of photos, uses a triple fact-checking system to ensure the accuracy of the data, and then rates the facilities on four criteria and adds a three-paragraph review. The result is the full-page Marina Report that contains up to 300 data points of information – including what’s onsite, what’s nearby and what it’ll cost. The marinas are not charged for inclusion and ACC does not accept marina advertising. A select group of advertisers whose products are of interest to ACC readers and users, are invited to place institutional ads in the books and on the website to help defray some of the development costs.

Currently there are six Atlantic Cruising Club regional volumes describing over 2,500 marinas from Halifax, Nova Scotia to Key West, Florida and the Pacific Northwest. These regional volumes cover New England (and the Canadian Maritimes), Long Island Sound, Chesapeake Bay, Mid-Atlantic/ICW, Florida´s East Coast, and the Pacific Northwest. The all-new Florida´s West Coast will be available in October 2012. The marinas are not charged for inclusion and ACC does not accept marina advertising.
